Winter vacation in Viehhofen

Skiing & more in Saalbach Hinterglemm - Viehhofen - Zell am See

Ski holidaymakers can take the gondola lift to the “Schmitten” ski area just a few hundred meters from the accommodation. One of the largest ski areas in Europe is also easily accessible from us. 280 kilometers of slopes and 70 lifts are the sporting offerings of the “Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn”.
You can also visit the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area with its 61 kilometers of slopes and 23 lifts.
Or you can go skiing or snowboarding on the “Schmitten” in Zell am See – here you will find 77 perfectly groomed kilometers of slopes and 28 lifts.
If you are a very active skier or snowboarder, we recommend the “Ski Alpin Card” – with this you can use all 3 ski areas.

Cross-country skiers are also very welcome here. Just a few kilometers out of the valley you can reach the Pinzgau cross-country ski trail network. Here you can run on hundreds of kilometers of cross-country ski trails throughout Salzburg’s Pinzgau.

You can also take part in a guest biathlon just a few kilometers away from us. Test your fitness and skill with a rifle.

Tobogganing is fun for the whole family. The sleigh takes you from a start on the mountain – where you can usually get the famous “Mut-Schnapserl” (courage schnapps) and then you go down into the valley on prepared toboggan runs or natural toboggan runs. You decide whether you want to go slow or fast, in one go or with stops.

Snowshoeing, winter hiking, snow tubing, ice skating, curling, horse riding, bowling or bobsleighing – these are a few other winter sports that you can try out with us.

The Hofer holiday apartments are the ideal starting point for all your sporting or cultural excursions. Book now!
